The PMA Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism kicked off today at 8:30am sharp.
After a somewhat sleepless night spurred on by nerves and broken radiators, we were launched head first into a news test. The day consisted primarily of discussions about the publishing industry and debating the content of our publication: High Street Business.
The highlight of the day was arguably the ‘Crescent Challenge’, essentially an Apprentice-style scavenger hunt. (But Lord Sugar’s got nothing on Roberta!) On our return to the boardroom the more competitive Junior Journalists in the group were very disappointed to learn that our hunt was not a competition. We felt rather embarrassed about our ‘rearranging’ of library books!
At 6.30pm we are all homeward bound with ambitious aims of early nights after what was apparently a very short day. What have we let ourselves in for…
